The mountain road down to Makkah
The distance is roughly 100 km and takes about an hour and a half to two hours. Much of the road descends through the Sarawat mountains on steep, winding sections. Allow extra time for traffic as you approach Makkah, particularly on Fridays and during the Umrah and Hajj seasons.
Stopping at the miqat
