One phone that will not connect
Set up roaming or a local SIM before the trip, or make sure at least one adult's phone works on landing. The driver can only reach a number that answers.

A larger private vehicle waiting for your family or group after you land at King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED), with the whole group and every suitcase going straight to Makkah.
Arrival day
Usually 1 to 1.5 hours on the road
Yes. A 7 seater transfer collects your group at Jeddah Airport and drives you directly to Makkah, roughly 100 km and usually one to one and a half hours on the road. The pickup is planned from your flight number and arrival time.
Most of the waiting on arrival day happens inside the terminal, not on the road, so the useful details are your flight, the size of your group and how many bags you are collecting.
What usually happens between landing and reaching your hotel.
Switch your phone on and send us a short message.
This can be quick or slow depending on how many flights arrive together.
Group luggage takes time; count every piece off the belt.
At the meeting point agreed with your booking.
Everything goes into one vehicle.
The road to Makkah, about an hour or a little more.
Drop-off at the practical point for your hotel.
Send these a few days ahead, and again if anything changes.
The meeting arrangement is confirmed with your booking, because it depends on the terminal you arrive at and the arrangements on the day. Pilgrim and regular flights can use different arrival areas, so your airline is the best source for where you will come out.
With a group, nominate one person as the contact. That person keeps the phone on, messages us when you land and again when the bags are collected, and the driver deals with one number instead of six.
If you cannot find each other, do not wander through the terminal with trolleys. Call or message us and we will guide you to the right place.
Send your flight number when you book, and contact us as soon as the airline tells you of a change. We use the updated information to adjust the pickup.
A delay of a few hours is common in busy seasons. It is much easier to rearrange a pickup when we hear early, so a message the moment you know is better than one after landing.
Arrival day is usually when a group has the most luggage.
On our fleet page the van class is listed for up to eight passengers and about six bags. These are planning figures, and we confirm the vehicle assigned to your date before you travel. See the fleet.
Once you are on the road, the drive is the simple part. The final stretch near the Masjid al-Haram is where time can be lost, because roads around the mosque are busy at prayer times and a larger vehicle cannot always stop at every hotel door.
Share the hotel name before you fly, and we will confirm the drop-off point. Hotels are often happy to send someone to help with luggage if you tell them your arrival time.
Set up roaming or a local SIM before the trip, or make sure at least one adult's phone works on landing. The driver can only reach a number that answers.
Count the group's bags before leaving baggage claim. Once you are on the road to Makkah, going back is a long detour.
Agree one place to wait while the contact person finds the driver, rather than everyone walking out with trolleys.
If your Makkah hotel changes after you book, send the new name before you fly, since the drop-off point depends on it.
Many flights land at Jeddah late at night or in the early hours. For a family, that means sleepy children, a long queue and the road to Makkah in the dark. A larger vehicle helps here more than at any other time: children can lie across a seat or sleep on a parent, and nobody has to hold a bag on their lap.
Check that your Makkah hotel knows you are arriving at night and will hold the rooms. Arriving at a hotel that has released your booking is a far bigger problem than any delay at the airport.
Your flight number, arrival time, the number of passengers and bags, and the Makkah hotel are all we need to confirm a 7 seater and a price.
Large families do not always fly together. If part of your group lands on a different flight, send both flight numbers. One vehicle can wait for everyone when the flights land close together; when they are hours apart, two pickups are usually kinder to the people who arrive first.
Tell us how you would like to handle it and we will plan around it. Waiting in an arrivals hall for several hours with children is the kind of thing worth deciding before the trip, not after landing.
At the meeting point confirmed with your booking. It depends on the terminal and the arrangements on the day, so we agree it with you in advance and confirm it by message once you land.
The flight number, the arrival date and the scheduled arrival time. If you are connecting through another airport, send the flight that lands in Jeddah, not the first leg.
Tell us as soon as the airline changes the time. We use the updated arrival to coordinate the pickup. Questions about waiting time are best settled by message before you fly.
Usually, for a group of six or seven with one large case each and hand luggage. Send the exact count, including pushchairs or wheelchairs, and we will confirm the fit.
Many groups do. Tell us when you book so we can plan the drop-off around your plans. Practical questions about rituals are for your tour operator or scholar.
Yes, if the flights land close together and the group is happy to wait for each other. Send both flight numbers and we will suggest whether one pickup or two makes more sense.
No. The flight number is enough for planning. Your airline will tell you where you arrive, and we confirm the meeting arrangement with your booking.
Once the luggage is loaded, the vehicle leaves the airport and joins the road towards Makkah. The airport sits on the northern side of Jeddah, so the drive does not pass through the busy centre of the city, and most of the journey is on the highway.
There are checkpoints on the roads into Makkah. Keep passports and any permits in hand luggage rather than in a suitcase at the back, so that nobody has to unload the vehicle if documents are requested.
If anyone in the group is hungry or needs a break after the flight, mention it to the driver early. It is easier to stop before the final approach into Makkah than once you are in the traffic near the hotels.
Distances and journey times are approximate and can vary with traffic, time of day, exact pickup and drop-off locations and travel conditions.
